Efface, an amazing performace by Bea Camacho.
"Efface // Single-channel video // 11 hours // 2008
This video documents an eleven-hour performance during which I crocheted myself into a white carpet with white yarn. This project builds on the themes explored in an earlier video performance, “Enclose”, but puts more emphasis on the space around the body, which becomes an integral part of the work as my body slowly disappears into the architecture.” From the artist’s website (www.beacamacho.com)

Playing with the space around and with what was left as waste or excess, rotten apple is the kind of art project that makes me want to join the fun :)

(i’ll be looking around for chances to take and corners to play with…)

I like looking at maps. Sometimes my eyes travel to inexplicable places that I fill with curiosity.

I remember finding by the tip of my finger a delta in the Arctic, there at the end of a river running south to north. And next to it a city: Tiksi.

I wondered what could life look like in such a place. Now, months later, I found these incredible photos by Evgenia Arbugaeva of a white, hard, kind of out of this world place… and they were form Tiksi!

Please check the artist’s website, her work is really worth a second and third look: http://www.evgeniaarbugaeva.com/
